Back by popular demand NishDish will be catering at the Friday Gala. Traditional Chef, Johl Whiteduck Ringuette, has been providing delectable First Nations cuisine to the Native community and allies since May 2005. Raised in the backwoods north of North Bay, Ontario, Chef Ringuette’s knowledge of Native food was provided by the culinary wisdom of his mother and inspired by his father, a hunter and fisher. While yearning for the Indigenous foods from his childhood such as wild game, freshwater fish, berries, and maple syrup, Johl received ceremonial instructions by his longtime medicine teacher to establish an Anishnawbe catering business in Toronto.
