Firefighters had to do double duty this morning at Hepworth & Sauble Beach.
Initially fire crews were on hand at the site of a hydro pole fire in Hepworth.
While they were at that scene, around 3 am, they were called to Davidson Drive in Sauble Beach for a house fire.
At the structure fire, which was at 25 Davidson Drive in Sauble Beach, 25 firefighters from both the Sauble Beach and Wiarton stations in South Bruce Peninsula were on hand to battle the blaze.
District Chief Burt says the firefighters encountered heavy smoke when they arrived with the fire raging in the roof of the structure.
Burt relates everyone in the house, along with their pets, were able to escape the blaze which took 7 hours to extinguish.
District Fire Chief Jack Burt spoke to Fred Wallace and described the calls they handle.
