The push has begun again to get a new Whitney Crawford Centre in Tiverton.
At the June 7th Kincardine Committee of the Whole meeting, Deputy Mayor Randy Roppel presented a Notice of Motion to councillors, calling for the project to be brought back to table for discussion.
Roppel says he wants to know one way or the other, if the project is going to proceed and if so, where will the money come from.
This subject has history at the council table, dating back several years.
It was a project that kept being bumped but came back to life recently when councillors were looking at what amounted to be a new build at the Davidson Centre.
At that time questions were asked about why the Tiverton facility build seemed to be on the shelf.
Roppel says his notice of motion is expected to come up for discussion some time in July.
The Whitney Crawford Centre was constructed in 1956 and a new build in today’s dollars would be well over an estimated 6-million-dollars.
