The Meaford Chamber is recognizing some of the best in business this year.
A release notes the awards were given out during the virtual 23rd Annual Chamber of Commerce Community Awards. The chamber received over 135 nominations, recognizing various community groups, people and businesses.
The Farmer of the Year Award was presented to The Good Family Farm who showed leadership, volunteerism, youth participation, community service, and special achievement characteristics.
The Most Improved Business Award was presented to Bayside Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for making significant or improved business premises and making the community more attractive.
The Tourism Award went to The Apple for showing a commitment to the industry through a welcoming attitude, awareness, and promotion of local sights and attraction.
The E&R Bulk Bin received The Customer Service Award, as it is given to the business which goes out of its way to provide excellent service to its customers.
The Agribusiness Award was presented to Windswept Orchard Cider, who invested in sustainable farming practices, as well as the development of new products, processes, and marketing channels.
The Special Merit Award was given to Friends of Meaford Library, for operating as a volunteer organization and provided over and above effort over the past year in enhancing the quality of life within the community.
Liz Harris was presented The Peter Francis Memorial Award for demonstrating superior volunteer leadership over many years in making contributions to the community development in Meaford, and having shown strong leadership skills through example.
The Business Owner of the Year Award was presented to Chez Gilles Fine Dining & Catering who has mad a contribution to the municipality and demonstrated leadership within the business, dedication in making the community as a whole better, good citizenship, care for the environment, and stable employee relations.
The chamber congratulates all the nominees as they are what make the municipality a great place to live, work and play.
