Work continues on the range light located on the North Pier at the mouth of the Saugeen River in Southampton and should be completed this Fall.
In a report to Saugeen Shores Committee of the Whole recently, Director of Community Services Jayne Jagelewski says “Over the last number of years, the Range Light on the has experienced damage to the exterior of the building due to high water and extensive storm impacts.”
With the water levels now receded, staff are advancing the repair work.
Jagelewski says the lower section is the most complicated and good progress is being made on sourcing appropriate replacement materials.
