It’s an exciting day for Snowbirds.
The U.S. land border has reopened to fully vaccinated Canadian travellers today, for the first time since March 2020.
The Canadian Snowbird Association (CSA) estimates about 90 per cent of more than one million snowbirds in our country will travel south now that they’re fully vaccinated.
Travellers must provide evidence of their vaccination status if requested, and a digital or print version of a vaccine certificate with a QR code or a vaccination record will be accepted.
The U.S. will accept COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Covishield.
It will also accept mixed doses of approved vaccines from different manufacturers, as long as they were taken at least 17 days apart.
Travellers must provide evidence of their vaccination status if requested, and a digital or print version of a vaccine certificate with a QR code or a vaccination record will be accepted.
Fully-vaccinated travellers may also be randomly selected for a COVID-19 test at the border.
