The owners of Port Elgin’s Tim Horton’s franchise and the owners of Nicol Insurance have each made 20 thousand dollar donations to the Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Campaign.
The donations entitle both companies to banner-hanging rights at the park for 10 years; their names will also go up on the park’s Lifetime Donor Board.
Campaign Co-Chair Rob Stanley says, “These long-serving members of our business community have seen how the Town has grown.” He adds, “They recognize the need for inclusive spaces like the Lamont Sports Park where residents can enjoy healthy lifestyles.”
Tim Hortons franchise owner Dave Falconer, says, “My wife Linda and I are more than pleased to contribute to the Lamont Sports Park fundraising program,” adding, “Saugeen Shores has always supported Tim Hortons and we wanted to give back to the community where we live, work and play.”
Tim Nicol, CEO of Nicol Insurance, also spoke about his long relationship with the community, saying, “We are very grateful to have the support of the places where we live and work, and with that comes a responsibility to give that support back. We are proud to be part of such a great project that will benefit so many families in Saugeen Shores for generations to come.”
The fundraising campaign seeks to raise money for the construction of the Lamont Sports Park Phase 2. This includes two youth baseball diamonds, and an accessible playground. The new construction will add to the four baseball diamonds built in Phase 1.
