Hanover has appointed a new Chief Administrative Officer.
This week, council passed a by-law appointing Sherri Walden as CAO.
Walden will succeed Brian Tocheri who announced his retirement earlier this year.
A release says Walden joined the Town of Hanover in 1992.
After serving 18 years as Recreation Programs Manager, she progressed to Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture in 2010 and has spent the last 12 years leading that department while also making many meaningful contributions to the Town as a whole.
The town says in a statement, “Sherri is a driven leader who has embraced and championed the municipality’s progressive vision and values. Her extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of municipal governance will serve the Hanover community, residents, visitors and staff well.”
Walden says, “I look forward to continuing to work with our committed council, dedicated Town staff and various engaged partners as we move forward with strategic priorities for the benefit of our community.”
Brian Tocheri has agreed to stay on for a short period to support and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and continuity of municipal services related to the CAO’s role.
