A marine rescue boat had to be deployed to assist with a distress call at the grain elevators in the Owen Sound harbour Monday night.
A fire department official says a call came in just prior to 8:30 p.m. about someone whose leg was stuck in a ladder leading to the water at the bottom of the grain elevators.
Owen Sound firefighters, police and Grey County paramedics were all called to the scene.
A marine rescue boat was launched and proceeded along the west harbour wall to assist the person in distress.
Firefighters say they were able to bring the individual to safety after using tools to remove some bars from the ladder.
The person suffered minor injuries and received medical attention from paramedics at the scene.
