The voting period for the 2022 municipal and school board elections has begun in a couple of municipalities in Grey Bruce.
Most municipalities in the region are using online and telephone voting, allowing ballots to be cast during a lengthy period until election day on Oct. 24.
Georgian Bluffs and Grey Highlands have already started their voting periods.
Many other municipalities in the area, including Owen Sound, West Grey, Hanover, The Blue Mountains and Southgate will open their online/telephone polls on Friday.
Next Monday, Oct. 17, the voting period begins in South Bruce Peninsula, Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, Brockton, Arran-Elderslie, Huron-Kinloss, South Bruce, Northern Bruce Peninsula.
There are a couple of municipalities that aren’t using internet and telephone methods to vote. Meaford held its first advance polls over the weekend and will have more coming up. In-person balloting will be conducted in Meaford at five different locations on election day (Oct. 24) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Township of Chatsworth is doing a vote by mail method.
