There are three job fairs in Grey County this week.
They are set to take place at the following times and locations:
Tuesday, February 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at John Diefenbaker Senior School in Hanover.
Wednesday, March 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
Thursday, March 2 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Georgian Bay Community School in Meaford.
Over 130 employers from numerous sectors will be at the job fairs including those from the healthcare sector, grocery stores, manufacturers, trades, restaurants, summer employers and more.
YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce Job Developer Wendy Tomlinson recommends job seekers come prepared for the job fair as if they going to an interview, saying, “It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be there in your business suit, but certainly come dressed and ready to speak to people in a way that you would if you were walking into a job interview. If you have a resume, make sure it’s up to date and ready to go. It’s always great to be able to drop off a hard copy to an employer while you’re there.”
Tomlinson notes the YMCA has offices in Owen Sound and Hanover that can connect job seekers to an employment advisor who can help with a resume. To reach employment services for the YMCA of Grey Bruce in Owen Sound, you can find them on the YMCA’s website or by calling 519-371-9222.
The Grey County Regional Job Fairs are organized and supported by Grey County, the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce, Four County Labour Market Planning Board, Georgian College, City of Owen Sound, Town of Hanover, Municipality of Meaford, Meaford Chamber of Commerce, South Grey Chamber and Employment Ontario.
