Northern Bruce Peninsula is awarding over $1 million in road surfacing tenders.
During its meeting on May 8, council received two reports from Public Works Manager Tory Cameron. They recommended awarding a $443,000 micro surfacing tender to Duncor Enterprises Inc., and a $570,000 surface treatment tender to the same company.
Staff are proposing to complete 17.7 kilometres of single resurfacing and 2.25 kilometres of double surface treatment throughout various locations of the municipality.
The micro surfacing report says the Public Works Department received two tenders before its May 3 closing date, with Duncor Enterprises being the cheapest.
The $443,000 price tag is a 16 per cent increase over 2022, and the $43,000 shortfall will be covered from the roads reserve.
The $560,000 cost Duncor submitted is a nine per cent increase from 2022 prices.
