Wellington North Fire says they responded to two early morning fires today.
The fire department says around 2:48 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Sligo Road in Mount Forest. Firefighters arrived on the scene of a storage building structure fire containing cardboard product and other items.
The department says there were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the damage cost estimate is set at over $1 million.
Deputy Chief Callise Loos says Sligo Road will remain closed for another couple of hours.
A short while later, the fire department says firefighters responded to a car fire around 3:18 a.m. with possible extension to the surrounding house and shed. Firefighters were able to knock the fire down before it got into the house extensively.
Everyone in the house got out safely and there were no injures.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the damage cost estimate is set at $50,000.
The fire department adds about 60 firefighters attended the incidents, which included both the Wellington North stations, and neighbouring departments from Minto, Mapleton, West Grey, Southgate, and Shelburne.
