Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Conservative MP Alex Ruff is calling on the suspects in the homicide investigation of a downtown Owen Sound restaurant owner in the city to turn themselves in.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Ruff urges the three suspects, and anyone with information about the crime to “Do the right thing.”
44-year-old Curry House owner Sharif Rahman died in a London hospital, days after he was critically injured in an assault outside his restaurant. Police are looking for three suspects who fled the scene. They have posted pictures of two of the suspects and an associated grey SUV.

In his statement, Ruff says, “I write this letter as a plea to those responsible. Do the right thing. Turn yourselves in to the police. Personally, I am confident in our law enforcement agencies, and you will be caught and held responsible. However, you have the opportunity to do the right thing and accept the consequences of your actions.”
Ruff’s statement also says, “The greater community has come together in support of the Rahman family in a tremendous show of solidarity but Canada, and all of us, can do more.”
One of Ruff’s hopes in making this statement, is that it will be seen by people outside of Grey Bruce, who may have helpful information.
Ruff is asking anyone with information to call the Owen Sound Police Service at 519-376-1234, or to submit an anonymous tip, through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at https://crimestop-gb.org/.2
“Do the right thing,” says Ruff.
