Owen Sound Police say two people are in custody and face several charges after two stabbings in the city.
Police say the two incidents happened about three hours apart early Sunday morning, and allege the same two individuals are responsible for them.
According to police, the first attack occurred just prior to 2 a.m., when a 20-year-old male approached a vehicle parked on 2nd Avenue East looking for a smoke.
“At that time, the female driver exited the vehicle and, without provocation of any kind, proceeded to stab the victim in the top of the head with a knife,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
The female attacker and a male passenger in the car then fled the area.
Police say the 20-year-old victim was taken to hospital with a significant, but non-life threatening injury.
Then at around 4:30 a.m. yesterday, police say the same male and female suspects forced their way into a westside apartment building by smashing a glass door with hammer. They allegedly caused substantial damage inside the building.
Owen Sound police officers attended the scene. And while they were there, the female suspect was discovered by a tenant hiding in the elevator. She allegedly stabbed the man in the hand, and then attacked him with bear spray. Police officers then intervened, and she charged at them with a knife while releasing more bear spray.
Police say the woman was subdued with a taser. The male suspect was later located sitting in a nearby vehicle.
The second stabbing victim was also taken to hospital to have the wound on his hand treated.
Owen Sound Police say they located two daggers, multiple knives, a large axe and a machete on the two accused. Officers also allegedly found some narcotics in their possession.
Kelly Auld, 34, from London and Tyler Yager, 30, formerly of Chesley were charged with a long list of offences including assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of prohibited weapons.
The two accused made court appearances and were remanded into custody.
