A 32-year-old man faces more than 30 criminal charges after being arrested for allegedly nabbing items from garages and vehicles in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Police say they received reports early Thursday morning about a suspicious male spotted trespassing near a number of homes and entering unlocked garages and vehicles in the area of 10th and 14th Streets West.
Officers responded and with the help of witnesses and home surveillance systems, they were able to identify, locate and arrest the suspect on 14th Street West.
“A subsequent investigation determined that the male offender trespassed at a minimum of 19 detached residences and stole property from garages and unlocked vehicles,” Owen Sound Police say in a release. “Numerous items of property were found in the possession of the accused upon arrest. Several of these items have been returned to their rightful owners.”
Police say the 32-year-old accused of no fixed address was charged with 31 criminal offences. Owen Sound Police didn’t provide a list of each charge.
The accused had a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.
