Cole Zurawski had a goal and an assist as the Owen Sound Attack downed the Niagara Ice Dogs 5-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Elliot Arnett, Easton Mikus, Ben Cormier and Declan Waddick also scored for Owen Sound (21-30-4-3), which picked up its third win in the past four games.
Arnett’s goal was his first in the OHL.
Blake Arrowsmith had the lone goal for Niagara (27-23-3-4). The Ice Dogs have dropped 11 in a row.
The Attack jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first and never looked back.
Carter George made 42 saves in the win, while Jeffery Hayden stopped 23 taking the loss. Niagara outshot Owen Sound 43-28 while going 0 for 5 on the power play; the Attack were 1 for 5.

PLAYOFF UPDATE
Owen Sound’s win over Niagara Wednesday moved them into a tie with the Sarnia Sting (19-27-4-7) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Owen Sound sits eighth for the moment with the tiebreaker over Sarnia, but the Sting have a game in hand.
Sarnia lost 6-2 to Flint. The Attack remain six points back of the sixth-place Firebirds (25-27-2-3), and two points behind the seventh-place Soo Greyhounds (24-32-2-1). The Attack hold a game in hand on Soo, who beat Sudbury Wednesday.
