A $30,000 donation has been made toward the Lamont Sports Park by the owner of the Southampton Golf and Country Club.
Kevin O’Brien is making the sizable donation in honour of this late friend and co-worker John Stein.
Stein passed away suddenly in March of this year.
He was the long-time Green Superintendent.
With O’Brien’s donation, his friend’s name will now adorn two minor league batting cages at the park.
The Lamont Sports Park is continuing to raise funding for its second phase, which will consist of two youth diamonds, an accessible playground, two batting cages, and a 200-seat community pavilion.
