The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is bringing back Gallery Night at the Movies (GNAM) and other programs this month.
The fall programming will start on Sept. 11 with Art Appraisal Day, in conjunction with the current exhibition, Tom Thomson? The Art of Authentication.
Attendees will have the chance to consult with appraisers to determine the value of their artworks based on factors like rarity, age, context, and market trends.
Tickets are $15 each for a 15-minute consultation with up to three pieces of art. People may also book consecutive time slots for additional works.
Those looking to sign up can do so by phone, email, or at the gallery.
The GNAM will launch the next day on Sept. 12. The start the 26th season will see the gallery present the sports comedy, The Phantom of the Open, by Maurice Flitcroft. Screenings will be held at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Galaxy Cinemas.
The gallery will then be offering free tours of the 8th annual Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sept. 17 when it hits the streets of the downtown River District. The tours will be operating from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Director and Chief Curator Aidan Ware.
