The Bruce County Public Library is launching a program providing new residents with information packages.
The library’s various branches are offering these packages filled with information and fun items based on the communities new residents move to.
Library Director Brooke McLean says during their strategic planning process, they heard from residents and stakeholders about the need to create a hub for residents new to the county or possibly new to Canada.
“By providing new resident packages, we have created partnerships with local businesses and services to help those new to our communities get situated and familiarized with their new home,” says McLean.
The library says they are frequently the first place new residents visit to find out more about their community. In addition to the new packages, residents can also rely on library staff to answer questions about their new communities.
