Seasons Owen Sound is starting its annual Pennies for Poppies fundraiser to support local veterans.
Seasons communities across Ontario and Alberta are taking part from Nov. 1 to the 11, raising funds for their local Royal Canadian Legion and honouring heroes in their communities.
General Manager at Seasons Owen Sound Retirement Community Polly Kirstine says, they remember and recognize the veterans in their communities with the commemorative fundraiser.
“We thank them for their incredible devotion and sacrifice in serving our country and will continue to support our local legion in gratitude,” says Kirstine.
Since 2016, Seasons has been working with the legion to support aging veterans with poppy donations going directly to provide financial assistance. The funds also support veterans, the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as the RCMP and their families.
