Walkerton’s Summer Streetfest is back today for a second year.
A release says it’s happening today in downtown Walkerton, with summer sales on food, fashion and more, plus a full day of family fun, starting at 10 a.m. on Durham Street.
The Market Garden Stage will have Children’s Zumba with Julia, Irish dance with Celtic Academy Canada Irish Dance, fun with Petunia the Clown, Family Yoga with the Yoga Barn, a special story time with the Walkerton branch of the Bruce County Public Library, and music with Greg McLean.
Bring a yoga mat or towel if you’d like for the Family Yoga at 12 noon.
Rural Strength and Conditioning’s Awesome Obstacle Course is also returning at Memory Lane Park near the Beer Store from 10 a.m. to Noon.
All-day family activities in the park will include clay modeling and more with Truth and Reconciliation Brockton, old-
fashioned games like Plinko and Ker-plunk, a musical “petting zoo” where you can try out real instruments including violins and wind instruments with Sistema Walkerton and A&R Music, free balloon animals, and a chance to help make a colourful mural and garden rocks for the Market Garden park.
A Saugeen Student Start Up Program (SSUP) entrepreneur, Conlan Brigden, will be selling his home-made fire starter kits.
Many businesses will also be offering sales or freebies, entertainment, and great sidewalk sales, including: Willow Home, Buddha Restaurant, Roc N Duke’s pet supplies, Axe & Gear music, A Delicate Edge, Kisses Lifeology, the All Natural Soap Company, Brown’s Pharmacy, Old Joe’s, The Old Garage Pizza and Ice Cream, Flowers by Usss, Simply Deli-cious café, Ti Amo Restaurant, and Luxus Decor.
