A Christmas Market is now open in Port Elgin selling made in Grey Bruce artisan gifts and Christmas finds.
It’s located in the Little’s Furniture building on Goderich Street (HWY 21).
The market is stocked with all locally made, all handcrafted handcrafted things like resin & wood cutting and charcuterie boards, beeswax food wraps, handmade candles, jams, hot sauces, honey and maple syrup.
Fresh baked items and gluten free baking is also on offer daily.
There are locally produced books, art, photography, pottery, quilts, macrame and weaving.
One vendor has greeting cards and prints with local, Bruce County sayings on them.
There’s also plenty to wear, including locally made and designed jewellery, hats, scarves, stockings, socks and Alpaca products.
Some practical accessories include paracord bracelets and string holders for masks that would traditionally be used to prevent losing one’s glasses. Handmade masks are also for sale.
The market is open six days a week from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. (Closed Mondays) Fridays it is open from 11a.m. until 8 p.m.
It will be closed closed Christmas Eve, then re-open for Boxing Week.
Market organizers say COVID-19 considerations are in place with limits to the number of shoppers at one time, masks are also mandatory, and sanitizing practices are in place.
