With Public Health Grey Bruce’s declaration of a ‘Critical Threshold’ in COVID-19 cases, numerous services and organizations are closing to the public or shutting down for a couple of days.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra has advised people to stay at home and only go out for groceries, the pharmacy, health care services (including going to medical appointments or getting vaccinated) outdoor exercise or walking pets in your community, work that cannot be done remotely and child care or school.
If you must leave home, you are advised to check and see what is open, operating, or allowing people on site.
Grey County has closed its forests, trails and public spaces until at least April 17th. The City of Owen Sound says its parks and trails remain open.
Hospitals in Grey Bruce have placed restrictions on visitors, including Hanover Hospital and Grey Bruce Health Services. Grey Bruce Health Services says, it is permitting essential visitors only (Care Partners) at all hospitals. Essential visitors will be permitted for pediatric patients, women giving birth, and patients at end of life.
The Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library has suspended curbside pickup until at least April 20th.
The Bruce County Public Library has also suspended curbside pickup until at least the 17th.
Numerous public offices have closed to in-person visits, with staff available remotely. Check with your municipality to see which services are still running. Some hazardous waste days, leaf drop off, and other waste disposal services my be affected.
