South Bruce OPP have the results of their Civic Holiday long-weekend traffic campaign.
Police say in a release, all available members of the South Bruce OPP took part in the Canada Road Safety Week campaign that ran from July 30th to August 2nd.
Officers looked for the “Big 4” factors in serious collisions: Impaired Driving, Distracted Driving, Aggressive Driving and Failing to wear a Seatbelt.
South Bruce OPP officers laid 46 charges during the week-long initiative including 36 speeding charges.
There were no impaired driving charges laid during the campaign, but three drivers were issued three-day driver’s license suspension for a ‘warn’ range result at the roadside.
Over the long weekend, South Bruce OPP investigated 4 collisions. A driver at one of the collisions is receiving treatment for life threatening injuries. There were no injuries reported at the other collision scenes.
